Why buy a futon frame over a sofa sleeper?
A futon and sofa sleeper both have the attributes of a sofa and a bed. However, the two big differences are cost, comfort and versatility. A high quality futon costs less than a low quality sofa sleeper. The comfort of the futon mattress is comparable to a conventional bed whereas a sofa sleeper has a metal bar in your back. A futon allows the owner the versatility of changing the look by simply buying a new cover. A sofa sleeper needs a costly upholstery.
How much does a futon frame cost?
Cost varies from frame to frame. Our Signature Collection costs more than our Carriage Collection do to than back panel. However, we have a frame for every budget. Do you only sell frames?
Yes, we only sell the frame. However, we have excellent relationships with cover and mattress companies and would be happy to connect you with another quality company.
How long does assembly take?
Our Carriage frames take about 15 minutes to assemble. Our Signature frames take anywhere from 30 minutes to 45 minutes. However, the extra time is worth the effort. The beautiful finished product speaks for itself. The instructions are easy to follow and very straightforward.
What are my shipping costs?
Strata ships from Minneapolis, MN and Oakland, CA. We have negotiated extremely competitive rates and will work with you to get the best freight rate possible.
How is my order shipped?
We ship the frames via common carrier which generally takes two to seven working days. You also can order via container or stop by one of our warehouses and pick up yourself. We can ship within 24 hours.
How do I pay for my order?
This depends. New customers are required to prepay via a check or credit card. Once you become an established customer we extend payment terms.
Can I specify a specific date for delivery?
Yes, we can specify a specific date for delivery, however this raises your freight cost. We can provide you with the number of your local terminal and they will arrange with you a convenient time if you have specified delivery times.
Will you ever have back-orders?
Infrequently an item you order will temporarily be out of stock. If it is, we will notify you immediately. We will let you know when the item is expected to be back in stock. We will also provide the option of canceling your order or allowing us to ship it when it is back in stock. You make the decision. We now warehouse in Malaysia, MN and CA so the odds are pretty low we will be out of stock.
What happens if my product is damaged during shipment?
Our products are packaged in such a manner that they will arrive at your business in almost all cases without damage. In rare occasions, shipping damage may occur. If your order arrives damaged, please accept the order and make a notation on the freight bill that there was damage. Please then e-mail us so that we can make arrangements to rectify the situation.
